Summary: PWCampbell worked with Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union for nearly four years to find a site for their main office. The lack of available land in the area and high cost of property made the search difficult, but because of PWCampbell’s diligence and experience, Peoples Advantage found a prime location.
Challenge: The site was located near wetlands, which required a creative engineering solution for storm water management. Also, multiple construction projects, including a public road, were being built adjacent to the site, requiring PWCampbell to coordinate its building plans with the city’s plans. Finally, the Credit Union wanted the building to complement the architectural style of the surrounding area.
Solution: Issues with the wetlands were resolved by sharing a pond partially located on the Peoples Advantage property with other properties, creating a joint storm water management system.
PWCampbell worked closely with city officials, taking extra measures to facilitate positive communication, as they proceeded with their respective projects.
Considering the length of time invested in locating an appropriate site, the space planning analysis had to be revised and updated to ensure that the main office would be able to accommodate the Credit Union’s future growth. The result was a new, 11,500 square feet, two-story main office building. A colonial design was used throughout to blend the Credit Union’s image and the architecture of the surrounding marketplace. This is the third project that PWCampbell partnered with Peoples Advantage Federal Credit Union.
