May 1, 2021 – Pittsburgh, PA – PWCampbell has publicly announced the launch of their new non-financial commercial division, NEXTGEN Commercial Construction – A Vision of PWCampbell. The new division will fall under the PWCampbell umbrella, adding another offering to their ongoing list of services.
PWCampbell, a 111-year-old family-owned design-build firm widely known and respected within the financial sector, has spent several decades producing non-financial commercial builds in and around the Pittsburgh area. PWCampbell defines non-financial commercial as any commercial project not related to a financial institution. Their current listing of non-financial projects includes hotels, restaurants, medical and non-medical office buildings, country clubs and more, spanning across multiple industries. They are most noted for their commercial work with the construction of the iconic Oakmont Bakery back in 2019, successfully completing the project on-time despite record rainfall totaling over 55 inches recorded during the construction period.
“From a business standpoint, it just made sense. With the creation of NEXTGEN, we can offer our clients a dedicated team that specializes in commercial construction within the non-financial sector. It is nothing new to us. Aside from the financial industry, we have been constructing iconic builds for the hospitality, medical, residential, and a vast number of industries for decades. This move just strengthens our positioning as experts in construction management by aligning our people to play directly into their strengths.”
Jim Caliendo, President & CEO
With a deep history of construction experience, a team of knowledgeable professionals, and a proven design-build process, the progression to include a non-financial commercial construction division adds even more specialization to the firm. With the establishment of NEXTGEN to handle all non-financial commercial work, the PWCampbell division is poised to focus solely on financial institutions, a segment that has been the backbone of the company for decades. Additionally, with the recent launch of their new custom residential division in Phillip Wentzel Custom Homes to handle custom residential construction, PWCampbell as a whole is now set to handle any type of project with a dedicated team of experts in that industry.
“It is a quintessential move that will allow us to strengthen our presence in the commercial industry. We do not want to be known as a jack-of-all trades, but rather a firm comprised of specialized experts to fit the needs of any project regardless of industry, and we believe this move will prove exactly that,” added Carlin Campbell, Principal & COO. Campbell will oversee the new division, along with a dedicated team with decades of experience. “With our specialization in non-financial commercial work backed by over 111 years of experience, we will continue to make an impact. Despite economic uncertainty resulting from the pandemic, business has been steady, and I think that’s a testament to the overall quality and commitment that we bring to the table, as well as the relationships and reputation that we continue to build on,” added Campbell.
NEXTGEN’s goal is to continue to partner with architects and designers throughout the region to deliver iconic builds, bringing their concepts and drawings to life in the commercial space. In addition, their commitment to the use of local subcontractors will help to further strengthen the local economy.
“We’re looking forward to continuing to redefine the future of Pittsburgh and beyond. There’s great accomplishment in being able to see the transformation of a city over time, and know that you had a part in it,” concluded Caliendo.
